The skills of the artisan have always been valued here in Cantal.  From the strong hands of the mason to the nimble fingers of the basket weaver, traditional crafts are used and celebrated.   It is scarcely surprising, then, that a number of gifted artists and craftsmen have workshops here.   Skilled artisans who have managed to merge the proud traditions of the past with the creative themes of contemporary art. 

At studio shops and market stalls, look out for original pieces by painters and sculptors; workers in brass, bronze, pewter and stained glass, potters and ceramic artists.
